Sam George Jr. is a respected Elder and Knowledge Keeper with deep roots in the Squamish Nation through his father’s lineage and the Tsleil-Waututh Nation through his mother. He is the great-grandson of Chief Dan George and a proud husband, father of five children, and grandparent of three. For the past six years, Sam has served as an Elder on the Executive Board of CUPE BC and has held the role of Elder for the Hospital Employees’ Union for the past three years. He currently serves as Elder and Knowledge Keeper for the Native Education College (NEC) and the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). Sam also dedicated 20 years as a youth worker with the Langley School District, supporting and uplifting young people through mentorship and care.
