Volleyball - Advanced
Advanced and co-ed, for experienced players only. At least one female per team each game. Must have a solid volleyball foundation, be able to pass, set, serve, spike, block with proficiency, and have a good knowledge of systems and strategic game play. Players need to show that they can be competitive in this advanced level. To ensure consistency of play and safety for all participants, a skill evaluation will be done on the first night of the session. The gym supervisor reserves the right to reassign players to the Intermediate or Recreational level if players do not meet Advanced skill levels. Skill levels are assessed based on Volleyball BC standards. No Drop ins on April 1st during mandatory skill assessment. Due to the increased interest in our Advanced Volleyball program, and in order to ensure that a high level of volleyball is offered safely and fairly, we have implemented some small changes. For the Advanced Programs an assessment of skills will occur on the first night (through observation). Those who do not demonstrate advanced skills will be asked to withdraw and register for Intermediate. We ask that you please be honest with your skill level when registering to ensure you are not left without a spot to play. Players who do not attend the mandatory skills assessment will be withdrawn from the program and issued a full refund. Drop-ins will still be permitted for the Advanced session, however, the Gym Supervisor will have discretion to remove players from play (without refund) should you not display the skills required
