Blended Basic First Aid with CPR/AED Level C
The Canadian Red Cross Blended Basic First Aid with CPR/AED Level C course combines flexible online learning with hands-on, in-person training. This option allows participants to complete a portion of the course online at their own pace while reducing the in-person training time, without compromising certification. Participants complete an online learning component through the Canadian Red Cross prior to attending a 4-hour, instructor-led in-person session focused on practical skills and real-life emergency scenarios. Both blended and full in-class formats result in the same Canadian Red Cross Basic First Aid with CPR/AED Level C certification, recognized by WorkSafeBC . Course content includes r esponding to medical emergencies , a dult, child, and infant CPR , AED use , c hoking response techniques , s evere bleeding and shock management , c ommon injuries (burns, fractures, head and spinal injuries) , and b uilding confidence to act in emergency situations . The online component must be completed before attending the in-person session ; p roof of online completion is required on the day of training ; t he Canadian Red Cross will not issue a certificate if the online component is incomplete ; p articipant name and email are required at least one week in advance to allow access to the Red Cross online learning . All courses are taught by certified Canadian Red Cross instructors who are also full-time first responders (firefighters and/or paramedics), bringing real-world experience into the classroom. Leisure Access subsidy does not apply to one-day course/workshop programs. Parents/Guardians enrolling more than one of their children will need to provide a separate email for each child as Red Cross requires separate emails for certification purposes. Work groups in this course will be formed age appropriately.
