Together, they explore the space between modern jazz, groove, and spontaneous musical conversation. Their performances balance virtuosity with expressive storytelling, creating an intimate and engaging experience. Bios Sebastian Cortes is a young up and coming jazz drummer and multi-instrumentalist, blending styles such as jazz fusion, hard bop, and prog rock with heavy improvisation. He has performed at venues such as The Rainbow, and Irene's pub, and has earnt recognition through a variety of local and foreign jam sessions. David Hakizimana is an emerging gospel jazz pianist, fusing the rich traditions of gospel music with jazz, soul, and contemporary improvisation. A dedicated church performer, he has performed at numerous church services, and faith-based events, earning recognition for expressive musicianship and heartfelt performances. IMPORTANT ACCESSIBILITY INFO We provide gender-neutral washrooms. We have one wheelchair accessible washroom. There is no wheelchair ramp. There is a set of 8 stairs to get into the building (7 steps, small landing, and then an 8th step). Once inside, the whole cafe floor is flat, with the exception of our small room to the side, which is a small step down. We are licensed to provide alcohol, but serve a variety of non-alcoholic options. This event takes place on the traditional unceded, unsurrendered territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin People.
