Textile Arts: Fabric Dyeing & Printing

Over this 10 week course, students explore fabric dyeing and surface design techniques, including Shibori and other fabric manipulation methods. They create richly textured and patterned dyed surfaces, then design and build their own stamps to layer colour and imagery on top. Through hands-on experimentation, students develop an eye for surface design and discover how it can transform cloth. A bandana, scarf, canvas bag, fabric, dyes and pigments are included in the $20 extra fee. Students, please bring or buy a white cotton T-shirt. Instructor: Mariana Frochtengarten
